That Hat Makes You Look Like a Lesbian
I wrote and recorded this song during the first week of August 2009. I’d gone hat shopping a few weeks earlier and a friend told me that she couldn’t wear hats because they made her look like a lesbian. “There’s a fine line between tomboy and lesbian,” she told me. “Me + hat = lesbian.” I joked that I should write a song called “That Hat Makes You Look Like a Lesbian.” I finished most of it that day.
