I wrote this song on Monday. The title came from a song I was working on several months ago but that I just threw out. I liked the idea though so I just started playing around with it.

Somehow I talked my friend Siobhan into letting me record it on her new MacBookPro in GarageBand. GarageBand is neat. But it’s a little frustrating. The mixes below are pretty different. I played it once through singing on the same track. I think that performance was better than the many layered thing it became. The first mix below is mostly from that first take. The second mix below is me trying to clean it up with more rhythm tracks and a couple of separate vocal tracks.

Having just tried to listen through both, I recommend #2. But please, let me know what you think.

The second song of the Orange County Sessions. Recorded on GarageBand. Still not loving it. But not dis-loving it as much. Still, what I heard in GB before I exported to disc was different. The levels got bumped on export.

This is the first of the Orange County Apartment Sessions. Recorded quickly in GarageBand. I’m not so excited about GarageBand. I want an old-school 4-track. Or a new school one with a hard drive that mixes to mp3.
